10/12 Death Valley - Golden Canyon

The trailhead sign at Golden Canyon.

Intriguing rocks behind the trailhead sign.

More fascinating rocks!

My self-portrait at the entrance to the canyon.

The trail into the canyon follows a stream bed.
It was hot in the canyon - about 95 degrees with little wind, so it was nice to find some shade.
The trail twists and turns as it ascends into the canyon
The scenery was constantly changing.

Those red rocks in the background were my destination.
Now I'm getting closer.
Close-up they look like columns! I stayed for a while contemplating the scenery then started back.
It was nearing sunset as I walked back. I was fascinated by the way the sun illuminated the rocks
A silhouette of a woman shows the height of the rocks near the beginning of the canyon.
As I walked out of the canyon, I was glad that I took the time to take a hike here!
